Dura Municipality

Dura Municipality was established on 1/1/1967. It is a semi-governmental "service" institution to serve the city of Dura, which is one of the cities in the Hebron Governorate. It is located to the west of the city of Hebron, 8 km away from it at an altitude of 839 meters above ground level. It is bordered to the east by Yatta and Hebron, to the north by Idhna and Taffuh, to the west by the Green Line (1948 lands), and to the south by As-Samu and Adh-Dhahiriya.

Dura Municipality includes a number of departments and divisions through which it provides services to citizens. Dura Municipality is affiliated with a number of facilities, the most important of which are the car inspection center "Dynamometer", Dura International Stadium, Siena Park and Garden, the municipality's public library, the Dura Martyrs Cultural Center and the museum.

The municipality's objectives:

(1) Develop and enhance the city of Dura as a strong, stable and diverse economic, social and cultural center, capable of ensuring prosperity.

(2) Improve the standard of living; develop the infrastructure of Dura City; and diversify the basic services provided to citizens.

(3) Develop human capital; and stimulate Creative potential of youth.

(4) Structural, organizational and detailed planning; and developing the city of Dura as a stable urban system.

(5) Preserving public health and safety of citizens and combating pollution, epidemics and health hazards; and enhancing prevention and health and community education.
