
Beit Jala Municipality is a civil, non-profit, independent body supervised by the Ministry of Local Government in the Palestinian National Authority; it aims to provide all necessary services to the citizens of Beit Jala. Its main income comes from tax revenues, building permits, craft licenses and rents. In 1912, the first municipal council was established in Beit Jala to serve the residents of the city and improve the standard of living and welfare in it. Beit Jala Municipality is the administrative body responsible for daily needs, providing basic services, and promoting social care for the citizens of Beit Jala. The members of the municipal council work hard and under difficult circumstances in pursuit of achieving a better standard of living in the city.
