

Beita is a Palestinian town located in the southeast of Nablus, about (13 km) away, and is bordered by several Palestinian villages and towns. Its land area is (21,000 dunums), most of which are planted with olive trees, as the town is famous for producing the best types of olive oil and soap made from it. About (90%) of the town's land is located within areas classified as (B) according to the Oslo Accords.
The town is about (750 meters) above sea level and is considered one of the largest and most important towns in the region, in addition to the picturesque natural views it possesses. The name of the town is derived from the word "house" as a symbol of hospitality, generosity and security, while the population is (16,000 people). The town is witnessing a large and rapid urban expansion.
The town of Beita has witnessed several civilizations and historical eras throughout its history, which is evident from the historical content it possesses, for example, the Bronze Age, the Romans and the Ottomans. The most prominent monuments are as follows:
Mount Al-Arma: which contains the remains of a castle that includes the remains of walls and huge holes that were used to collect water in the past. It is clear from the presence of more than one method of construction that the mountain has been inhabited by many civilizations, the effects of which are still clear and evident.
Al-Bala'a Cave: which contains many picturesque limestone statues, Khirbet Ain Rojan and many old houses dating back to the Ayyubid and Ottoman eras. It is important to mention that due to the historical value of the town of Beita, it is included on the Palestine Heritage Trail.
The residents work mainly in agriculture, stone and crafts, as the town includes the Beita Central Market, one of the most important central markets in the West Bank, and the industrial zone, both of which contribute fruitfully to the local economy.
Beita town enjoys a variety of public facilities and services, including the Beita town emergency center, which is the only one in the region and serves a number of villages and towns in the southern Nablus Governorate, nine schools for boys and girls, two health clinics, the Beita Sports Club and Stadium, two women's institutions, one for developing and building women's capacities and improving their economic situation, and the other a cooperative for producing olive oil soap, which is exported globally. Women in Beita town have an effective and vital role. As for entertainment, there is the picturesque Ein Olim Natural Park, which contains a natural water spring, and the Mother and Child Garden, which is a family garden, owned by the Beita Municipality, which manages and supervises them. Given that the environment has become a matter of global interest and Beita town is part of this trend, it has included the green environment within its plan by developing solutions to the waste crisis. Despite our modest capabilities, Beita town established a compost project, which is the production of organic fertilizer from organic waste to get rid of this crisis, and is currently working on a community initiative related to raising awareness of the importance of waste sorting in schools. The town's advantages, the diversity of its public and service facilities, and the town's development movement have made it an attraction for visitors and residents of the surrounding villages. The local community plays a major role in participation, cooperation, decision-making, and initiatives that serve the town, as there are many committees in the fields of (education - health and support for people with disabilities) that aim to present their vision to serve these sectors.
